Are you afraid of flying?

You’re more likely die from crashing your car than from your plane crashing. Did you ever heard that old cliche? Everyone has heard the cliche about how safe airline travel. This is not strange or abnormal, between a third and half of Americans have the same fear.

Airline incidents have the big impact for this case. It’s not only spur latent trauma in many of the passengers who were on board, but also to play into existing fears of the people who watched the dramatic rescue footage on television. The fears probably getting worse and change into a term called aviophobia. Aviophobia is an irrational fear of flying, and is an anxiety disorder that has only been around for the last hundred years or so.

The fear can become a life altering phobia due to today’s fast paced, and fast traveled world. Aviophobia can keep sufferers away from loved ones, held back from business related promotions and devoid of fun vacation. Aviophobia is also from of control issue because one is nearly completely helpless while in the air. Slightly more common in women then in men, Aviophobia is also seen in children, especially of those who suffer from the phobia themselves. Aviophobia is often closely related to other types of phobias, such as claustrophobia (fear of confining spaces) and acrophobia (fear of high places).

Those who already have a fear of flying may be surprises at how common it is. And there’s a good news for anyone suffering from a fear of flying, though. Because it’s so common, it’s also a disorder that is “incredibly treatable.” But there are some question. Why are so many people afraid to fly? Is there particular reason for this case?
